IPL 4 auction shifts focus to uncapped players

The second day of the IPL did not generate big bids since most of the franchises purse was dried up and now the scene shifts to the buying up of uncapped players from within India. The bidding was however not without its share of controversies surrounding the process and role of N  Srinivasan the BCCI secretary who is also the owner of Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The glamour quotient provided by Nita Ambani, Gayatri Reddy, Silpa Shetty and Priety Zinta along with tycoon Vijaya Mallaya were in full display. The biggest buy on second day was Daniel Christian, the Australian all-rounder bought by Deccan Chargers forRs4.06 crores.
Vijay Mallaya of RCB pointed out that IPL said that if four players from the last season were retained than up 4.5 million from the cap of $9million but revealed that the governing council never said as to how much the franchise should pay the retained players. It meant that the franchise can go above the cap. The IPL Chairman Chirayu Amin too did not have answer as to  how it would monitor the amounts paid to uncapped players.

Opener Gautam Gambhir on Saturday became the costliest cricketer in the IPL by fetching a whopping $2.4 million (approx Rs 11.04 crore) on the first day of the auctions where Indian players proved to be the biggest draw with three others going for more than $2 million.

TCS signs biggest land deal in Kerala infotech sector

In what is billed as the biggest land deal in the history of Kerala's infotech sector, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Wednesday signed a lease deed for 82 acres of land worth Rs.1,500 crore here.
The company has paid Rs.75.25 crore as the initial down payment for the land in the Technocity project.

TCS will invest Rs.1,500 crore in the project coming up near the Technopark campus.

Admission to B.Tech. Degree Programme is based on VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) conducted all over India.

Eligibility

• A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with a minimum average of 60% of marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB)
  
  
• A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% average marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Students hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and from the North Eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh

Test Centre City (Click here)	Test Centre City list is provided in the bulletin. Test Venues for Paper-Based Test and Computer Based Test are different.  The Paper-Based Test will take place only on one day i.e., 06 February 2011 at one time slot i.e., 10.00am-12.30pm, whereas the Computer Based Test will take place from 12 February 2011 onwards in different time slots. If the number of candidates registered for Computer Based Test is few/limited, these candidates have to appear for the Paper-Based Test on 06 February 2011 only. One candidate can appear only for one date for the February 2011 MAT.
Admit Card	All provisionally registered candidates can down load their Admit Card from AIMA website link: www.aima-ind.org/mat_centre.aspx 7 days before the Paper Based test date i.e., with effect from 29 January 2011 (Saturday). Specific Admit Card will be generated both for the candidates opted for the Paper Based Test and for the Computer Based Test. Admit Card would be having Candidate Name, Form No, Roll NO, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to them in the case of Computer Based Test. Candidates applied for Computer Based Test and who have been permitted to appear for the Computer Based Test; have to down load the Admit Card 7 days before the Paper Based Test date  i.e., with effect from 29 January 2011 (Saturday) from AIMA website. Candidates accessing the website the earliest can choose the Date and Time of his/her choice subject to availability. Those who have not opted the date and time slot for 4-5 days; will be automatically allotted date and time slot by the system.  No request for change of date and time slot can be entertained.
